The first ingredient in a quality job is skilled and qualified craftsmen. We believe that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right. Our goal is to train our members to be well-rounded craftsmen, prepared for any job offered to them. We ensure our members are compensated fairly for the work they do, and provide training, benefits, and pensions.
Members have access to extensive training classes that are unavailable outside of the Union. This specialized training is just one of the reasons our members have an advantage in the industry.
Not only does Carpenters Local 283 provide you with the training you need to further your career, we also work with contractors to find available jobs. We can help you build your career network.
Our members’ names are placed on our “Available for Work” list so that we can place you in a position that will allow you to excel.
Joining Carpenters Local Union 283 ensures fair and equal wages, a pension, and health insurance, regardless of who your employer is.
Training and monthly meetings allow you to meet others in your field. Connect with fellow members, share stories and tips, and form friendships within the industry.
We only require a low monthly dues payment of $22 to maintain access to your benefits as a member.
