Volunteers Build Life Jacket Loaner Stations

Many thanks to this special group of brothers and sisters for building four life jacket loaner stations for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The effort was part of National Public Lands Day, 2022 on Saturday, September 24 and held at Thurmond Lake. The Corps will use these life jacket loaner stations at various spots around the lake for people to access for free.

Helping in this community service were (left to right): Park Ranger David Quebedeaux; Savannah Training Center millwright instructor Jessie Patterson; Dan Morris, Augusta Carpenters Local 283 Business Manager; Park Ranger Charlie Fenwick, Local 283 member Sharon Brown; Logan Brown, Eastern Region Director of the Southern States Millwright Regional Council; and Trevor Brown.

Thanks, everyone!
