We operate an open interview program to accept potential carpenter apprentices and journeymen. Applications are accepted Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm at the Local 283 offices: 3025 River Watch Parkway, Building 300, Augusta, Georgia, 30907.
Journeymen evaluations occur every Wednesday at 8:00 AM

To join the Carpenters Local Union, you must apply to the Regional location. There is a training process that you will complete , and monthly dues of $22 that must be paid to remain a member. To begin your application, visit the Southeastern Carpenters Regional Council website.
You will qualify for health insurance once you have worked 375 hours in a period not exceeding four (4) consecutive months. Once this requirement has been met, the participant will then become eligible on the 2nd month following the month the 375th hour was worked.
Union meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the hall. Monthly dues are just $22 and can be paid online.
